To produce your custom split colophon name garnishment, you don’t need any Photoshop or fountain editing software. The great thing about this design is that it can each be done in your Cricut Design Space.

What you ’ll need

For this design, you’ll need a set of clear plastic beautifiers. I bought mine on Amazon in a package of six, but they can also be fluently set up at craft stores like Michales or bone
stores. They aren’t veritably precious, occasionally dealing for as little as a bone
all.

You’ll also need to buy and use endless vinyl. I find that Oracle or Sister vinyl works best for vacation beautifiers where you bear the vinyl to really stay on. These vend for about a bone
a distance at Michael’s, but you can also find them online. I chose red for my original beautifiers but feel free to choose whatever colors represent the colors of your Christmas tree. Also know about Embroidery Digitizing

Last, you’ll need a strip to tie your garnishment and hang it on the tree. I like to buy gold lists because I feel like it goes with any Christmas theme, but again feel free to use whatever you would like. I’ve used rope in the history for a further rustic look and indeed white yarn.

Step- by- step instructions

Open your Cricut Design Space and elect a new design to get started.

Click on the textbook type tool( it has the letter T in it) and a box will prompt open where you’ll class in the first name of the person you’re creating the garnishment for. I’m using the name Avalon as the illustration pictured.

Next, decide on a fountain for the full name. For this design, I named the fountainHellomy. However, I recommend one that’s handwritten in cursive or ultramodern penmanship, If you want to use a different fountain. By choosing this type of fountain you can produce a nice balance between the boldness of the original in the background.

named Your fountain

After you have named your fountain, open another type tool and type out the first letter of the person’s name that you’re creating the garnishment for. In this case, I compartmented out A for Avalon. Choose a bold serif fountain for the original to help it standout. However, it has the little decorated line at the ends of each letter, these are called ‘ serifs ’, If you’re doubtful what a serif fountain is.

Now size out your two letter creations. Measure your garnishment and depending on how large or small yours is, make your original letter large enough to cover utmost of the garnishment on one side, and your name small enough to fit inside the letter.

Sized

Once you have everything sized, you’re going to elect a shape from the toolbar. elect the cube shape and drag it over to your enlarged original letter. Click on the cinch on the corner and size your cube meetly.

Click on the color options on the top main toolbar and change the color of your cube to white.

original And The Cube

Highlight both the original and the cube placed over the original and right- click on the right menu column, you’ll also see a menu pop up.

Choose the ‘ slice ’ option, and you’ll see the white forecourt appear with a cut out of the original inside it.

cancel the box and the potion of the letter inside it. You should now have a blank space in your original.

Drag over your name in cursive and fit it inside the original like the illustration picture. Now you’re ready to begin cutting.

Cutting out your design

still, set up your cutting mat with your vinyl, If you’re using a single color.( You don’t have to image this design because it isn’t heat- transfer vinyl.)

still, one color for the original and one for the name, use the deselect tool to cut out one color of vinyl at a time, If you’re using two colors of vinyl.

Cut out your design and weed out any redundant vinyl. Peel up your original and place it on your garnishment. Next, peel the name and place it in the cut- eschewal space in the original.

Using contact paper

still, you can also use the contact paper system, If you don’t feel comfortable shelling up and placing your vinyl on the garnishment. For this system, cut a piece of contact paper out as large as your vinyl piece. Remove the reverse and place on top of your vinyl.

Use a credit card or the Circuit scraper tool to scrape out any air bubbles. Lift the contact paper, talking the vinyl with it. Place everything how you want it to look on your garnishment.

Peel up the contact paper, leaving your vinyl in place.

finishing your design

Once you have all your pieces on your garnishment, give the vinyl one last drive to make sure there are no air bubbles.

Use your strip or string to tie a arc at the top of your garnishment and leave a circle, so you can fluently hang it on your Christmas tree. Also check ZDIGITIZING Embroidery Digitizing Service

Tips and tricks

Add loose shimmer or sequins to the inside of your garnishment for a snow globe effect. Or use round styrofoam to make it really look like snow.

Pour a nugget of makeup on the inside of your garnishment and shake it to fleece the inside with a fleece of multicolored makeup.

Use Mod Podge and shimmer and cover the inside with shimmer that sticks to the walls of the garnishment.
