The Problem

The Solution

I came up with an idea to decorate my room and spice it up on a budget. I wanted to create something unique that would not only look great, but be easy to do and inexpensive. I found the perfect solution with myPosterwall! The website allows you to upload any image from your computer or mobile device and customize it into a poster of your choice. You can change the size, color, layout, paper type and more! Next time you want to spice up your room or need some new art for your home office, try out myPosterwall!

How to Do It

  • Find posters or images you like and print them out. You can also find cheap, used posters at thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales.
  • Cut them to the size of your wall with scissors or an X-acto knife (if you’re using old posters).
  • Put glue all over the back of the poster and stick it on your wall.
  • Hang with thumb tacks, push pins or nails depending on how thick the poster is and how heavy it is.
  • Add some paint if needed to unify things by painting around any nail heads or other visible hardware, but be sure not to paint over anything important!

Results

I love decorating my room, but I don’t have a lot of money. One idea I had was to hang up posters to fill the empty space. It was really easy and cheap. Â I just went to the store and bought some poster frames that were meant for kids’ rooms, then cut out some of my favorite photos from magazines or printed them out using the computer and then framed them. Â It looks really great! Â There are lots of different ways you can do this, too. You can print the pictures onto sheets of paper and glue them onto cardboard, frame those, or buy special materials like foam boards in shapes like trees or people. If you want your pictures to be three-dimensional instead of flat, there are all sorts of craft materials like modeling clay and glitter to use. When it’s time to change your decoration again, they’re so cheap that you can just throw them away when they get old (which will happen pretty quickly).
