When asked if my garden had enough space to grow Colorado Breeders Depot Blue Dream Seeds, I answered immediately! This strain is amazing in aroma and flavor!
Blue Dream is the cross of Blueberry Ice and a special U.S. Haze. This produces a 70% sativa variety that is both easy to grow and can be used by professionals and beginners alike.
The Grow Site
It is winter in Canada so I grew the plants inside my house in a grow tent. The tent was fitted with LED lights and inline fans. There were also oscillating fans that provided ventilation and air circulation. I began by growing them in a low-ceiling veg tent and then moved them up to a larger tent for bloom. I used a Sensorpush sensor to measure the temperature and humidity inside the tents.
The Grow
Three steps were used to germinate these two seeds. The seeds are first soaked for 24 hours in water. After that, they were transferred to a damp towel for 24hrs. Finally, the tap root was planted into my medium of choice, Pro Mix HP in one-gallon pots.
Blue Dream were grown in plastic 5-gallon pots. They were given Remo Nutrients to be fed and kept hydrated by hand.
The complete grow cycle took 14 week: 5 weeks of vegetable and 9 weeks flowering. Vegetation light cycles were 18 on: 6 off, and 12 on: 12 off for flowering.
This was an easy grow and manageable for a personal crop.
Plant description
Although this plant grew to be quite tall at 4.5 to 5.5 feet, it was still short and narrow. Both plants progressed faster than the others. After being transplanted, they started to stretch. They developed large, long-fingered fan leaves with double serrations. They were dark green, with a blue-green edge.
This is a very fragrant strain. This strain is very fragrant, especially early in the veg.
They were still in bloom by week three. The result was large, round, pompom-shaped flowers. They grew into dense, densely covered flowers with trichomes. At week three of bloom, I took out the fan leaves. The remaining leaves were yellow with purple and bluish rails.
Around week 7, as the buds gained weight, the branches needed support. To support the branches I used Yoyos tied to my ceiling. You will need to set up a tent high enough to support the plant.
Harvesting, drying, curing
One plant died one week earlier than another. I picked the plants when the soil was just about dry. I cut the stalk at its base and hung it upside-down. A grow tent was used to dry the plants. It took 15 days for the Blue Dream plants to dry well. They were very sticky.
The buds produced lots of trichomes and less sugar leaves. They also produced beautiful purple/blue rails.
It’s not a bushy shrub, so it is easy to trim. I dried the buds, trimmed them and placed them in amber containers. I burped them every day for 10 consecutive days and kept the jars dry for three weeks.
You can smell the difference.
When you first break into a marijuana bud, it is clear that you will be smoking something very special. It is a heavenly bud! The smooth, creamy berry flavor is mouth-watering. You don’t need flavored cones or papers!
This is a relaxing strain. Its body high makes it an ideal strain to smoke at night.
Blue Dream delivers a balanced high, which is characterized by full-body relaxation and mild cerebral invigoration. This product may be useful for those suffering from anxiety, depression, stress, pain, and insomnia.
