IELTS Writing tips for 7+ Band Score

This, really, is not my weakness. But this skill is difficult to study on your own. You should go to an English language center that has teachers who are ready to check your writing. Here are some ideas I can think of that probably won’t help you. But do your best and you will succeed.

1. Before writing an essay, you need to know its basic structure. A book about essay writing can show you this.

2. Do task 2 first, because it is worth more points and is easier.

3. Don’t waste too much time on task 1. Learn all the writing instructions for each type of task 1. On the real test, you just have to apply the structure with new data and suitable verb tenses. Read the sample essays and take note of those that have good structures so that they have broad academic structures for task 1. Some structures can be used in task 2 as well.

4. You must perform both tasks. I don’t care how hard the test is, I don’t care how little time you’ve got. You must finish your test at all costs. If you don’t, you will be punished.

5. Practice writing again. Do both 2 tasks simultaneously. You can only focus on Task 1 or Task 2, but before the exam, you should practice writing both tasks to familiarize yourself with deadlines.

6. Practice makes perfect. In writing, this statement is quite true. But better to have someone check your writing for you and learn from your mistakes.

7. Writing requires a broad academic vocabulary. You also need to buy a dictionary to work with and enrich your vocabulary.

8. Avoid all informal modes of writing. There are some writing rules to follow. For example: no abbreviations, no 1st and 2nd pronouns or possessives (I, you, I, mine, yours), except in the conclusion where you have to state your opinion.

9. Each body paragraph should include a topic sentence, supporting sentences (2-3 sentences), and sentence development (evidence, example, experience, data). In many languages (including English), there are many ways to develop a body paragraph, resulting in situations where the subject clause is not the first clause, but you are advised to place the topic sentence at the beginning of each body paragraph. Don’t be creative about it.

That’s all I can think of. I hope you have good luck with your exams and what I wrote helps you in one way or another. But remember, to reach success, you have to put in the effort. You should have clear motivation and a strong will to overcome difficulties. When I was doing practice tests, I was exhausted. But no success comes easily. Practice is all it takes to get success. Choose IELTS coaching in Noida for better preparation. Don’t just wait for a lucky break, it will never come if you don’t know how to handle it.
