The Palm Springs International Film Society is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to celebrating the art and culture of film in our society. With an international focus on education and research, PSIFF offers educational programs at all levels – from introductory courses in filmmaking to symposia for scholars and filmmakers of all disciplines.
What is the Palm Springs International Film Society?
The Palm Springs International Film Society is a membership-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of international cinema and cross-cultural understanding through education and cultural diplomacy.
Since its inception in 1989, the Film Society has been committed to presenting a broad spectrum of films from around the world to Southern California audiences. The Film Society presents films year-round at its state-of-the-art facility, The Camelot Theatre, as well as at other venues throughout the Coachella Valley. Each January, the Film Society hosts the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), one of the largest film festivals in North America. PSIFF provides filmmakers and industry professionals from around the globe with a platform to showcase their work to tens of thousands of filmgoers. The Festival also includes robust programming aimed at educating and connecting filmmakers with students, scholars, and industry professionals.
Programs Offered
There are many programs offered at the Hong Kong International School. Some of the programs include:
- The English as a Second Language program
- The Chinese as a Second Language program
- The American Curriculum programs
- The IB Diploma Programmer
- The IGCSE Programmer
Each of these programs offers something different to students, and each has its own benefits. It is up to the student to decide which program is right for them.
Who is Eligible to Attend?
To be eligible to attend, one must be a current or prospective student at an accredited institution of higher education, as well as a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). If you are not a member of NACAC, you may still attend if you are accompanied by a member. The conference will take place in Hong Kong.
The conference is open to representatives from member organizations of the International Forum for Quality and Safety in Healthcare, as well as observers from other interested groups.
