The best Netflix series of all time, according to fans

Netflix has brought us an overwhelming number of great TV series. To make sure you never miss out on what’s coming next, the streaming giant has made each season of every show available at once, so you can binge-watch at your leisure and then move on to the next show when you’re done. But which Netflix series are the best of all time? You can find out by reading this list of the top shows on Netflix, from original series like Stranger Things to licensed programs like Breaking Bad and Friends. All that’s left to do now is check out your favorite shows and start watching!

Insatiable

Teenagers created their own best Netflix list on eHeyo (eHeyo found through The Mercury News), an opinion sharing app for teens. We asked The Mercury News for access to their data and found Insatiable was one of those top shows. It’s not a new show by any means, but it has gained a lot of popularity in 2019 as well as several awards. Insatiable is by far one of Netflix’s most controversial shows ever made with many viewers saying it promotes weight loss culture; many viewers also enjoyed watching it. A lot people watched it out of morbid curiosity and were pleased with what they got themselves into – after some online backlash regarding its popularity because let’s face it.

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

This Amazon Prime Original show has won multiple awards for good reason. The period-piece comedy focuses on a 1950s housewife who decides to embark on a career as a stand-up comic after her husband admits that he wants a divorce. Starring Rachel Brosnahan and Michael Zegen, it’s charming and hilarious. In short: Mrs. Maisel is marvelous! (*Sorry, couldn’t help ourselves).

Black Mirror

While shows like House of Cards and Orange is The New Black are very strong in their storytelling and acting abilities, we’re going to go with a show that plays it pretty safe: Black Mirror. No show gets more consistently interesting (and sometimes creepy) commentary from its online fandom than Black Mirror. There’s no other show out there quite like it. Plus, many of these episodes are only about an hour long – so you can even get a quick thrill without having to sit through hours and hours of TV at a time. We highly recommend watching one episode at least once for every day that you work at eHeyo . . . or until your eyes turn black from staring into your computer screen!

A Series of Unfortunate Events

This is one show that truly lives up to its name. The children’s book-turned-Netflix series follows three siblings who are orphaned when their parents and their house burn down. Over a dozen books later (the 13th will be published in 2018), A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts each child’s misfortunes throughout his or her childhood. As most stories with such a dark premise might do, A Series of Unfortunate Events manages to strike a balance between comedy and tragedy. The TV adaptation stars Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf and Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire—two orphans who seem determined to have misfortune follow them wherever they go.

Stranger Things

You might have missed it last year, but Stranger Things is a fantastic eight-episode sci-fi horror series. The show plays homage to classics like Close Encounters and ET: The Extra-Terrestrial. If you’re in for a great story with lots of surprises (like me), then check out Stranger Things on Netflix today!

Orange Is the New Black

The Best Overall Show on Netflix? (According to Rotten Tomatoes) If there were a contest for most binge-worthy show on streaming services, Orange Is the New Black would be a shoo-in. Now entering its sixth season, it has more than likely become one of your favorites — and even if you haven’t seen it yet, you’ve probably heard that it is. Before I ever decided to watch OITNB myself (I had heard great things), I was surprised that so many people hadn’t yet watched it or hadn’t even heard about it.

Happy Reading!!!!
