The Provis Cache Key’s Current Location in World of Warcraft

Provis Cache Key

In World of Warcraft, Zereth Mortis is full of treasures that can be opened to get good gear, and the Provis Caches can be opened more than once to get the same rewards.

In the final patch for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, which was titled “Eternity’s End,” the expansive zone of Zereth Mortis was made available to players. In the Warcraft world, Zereth Mortis serves as a metaphor for the cradle of creation; hence, the player has the opportunity to unearth and acquire a great deal of ancient riches that have been buried and dispersed around the zone.

While some of these treasure chests can only be opened once and contain one-of-a-kind cosmetic gifts, others provide an ongoing source of loot that is subject to a daily cooldown and can be opened multiple times. This later category describes the location of the Locked Provis Cache.

However, in order for players of World of Warcraft to acquire the loot that is contained within, they will first need to fulfill a number of significant requirements.

In particular, players have to finish the main Zereth Mortis campaign up to and including Chapter 3, as well as the introduction questline for the automa Firim up until “Materials of Creation” is finished. This will give you access to the tools you need to pry open a Provis Cache, but not before you crush some important parts into powder.

Since the requirements have been satisfied, players are now able to approach Firim and request a spare forge-tap from him. With this tap, they will be able to tap into the engraved spheres that protrude from the ground all across Zereth Mortis. Tapping into the orbs will engulf them in an arcane light for a few seconds, and should produce Ephemera Strands for the player, in addition to Trace Enigmets, which are utilized in the process of unlocking a one-of-a-kind Pocopoc costume.

In order for players to get a Provis Cache Key, they will initially need to use the Forge-tap to gather fifteen Emphera Strands, and then they will need to use their inventory to merge those strands into an Ephemera Orb.

When they crack open the Ephemera Orb, they should find a Provis Cache Key inside. However, it is important to note that the drop chance is not guaranteed, and players of World of Warcraft should be prepared to collect multiple stacks of fifteen Emphera Strands before they get lucky. Players have reported needing as few as three tries and as many as thirteen in order to receive a Provis Cache Key from the assembly. However, some players only needed three attempts.

The next and final step for players is to make their way to the western entrance of the Forge of Afterlives, which is located in the most interior region of Zereth Mortis. Once they have the Cache Key in their possession, they can begin their journey. The Locked Provis Cache can be located at these specific coordinates on the map: (41.96, 51.85). Even though the Provis Cache does not contain any one-of-a-kind loot by itself, it does provide a consistent daily income of Cosmic Flux. This is a new type of currency that was added in “Eternity’s End.” It’s what lets players level up their Shadowlands legendaries to Rank 7 in the game.

In Zereth Mortis, opening a Provis Cache counts toward unlocking the ability to fly, just like opening any other treasure in the zone does.
